NASCAR: Texas race not yet postponed for a third time due to rain
By Asher Fair
NASCAR has twice postponed the Cup Series playoff race at Texas Motor Speedway due to rain, and it appeared that a third postponement was likely. But the plan is to run the race this evening.
What was supposed to be Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series round of 8 playoff race at Texas Motor Speedway turned into a Monday race due to rain. Then it turned into a Tuesday race for the same reason.
Just 52 of the 334 laps of the Autotrader EchoPark Automotive 500 had been contested on Sunday around the four-turn, 1.5-mile (2.414-kilometer) oval in Fort Worth, Texas when the rains came and the red flag flew on Sunday afternoon.
Despite an amazing effort by the track-drying team, getting the race in on Sunday was not an option, and there were no windows on Monday to make it happen either.

It appeared as though the same could be said for Tuesday. However, NASCAR is reportedly planning to run the final 282 laps of this race beginning at 8:30 p.m. ET this evening.
According to The Weather Channel, there does appear to be a window this evening during which the race could be contested and this event could avoid becoming a four-day race, provided the precipitation stays away. The race would be considered official after the halfway mark (167 laps), but the goal remains to run all 334 laps.
