Possible 2021 John Hunter Nemechek landing spots: #3 – Spire Motorsports

Another possibility for John Hunter Nemechek for the 2021 NASCAR Cup Series season is Spire Motorsports.

While Corey LaJoie, who left Go Fas Racing, has been tipped to become the team’s first ever full-time driver of the #77 Chevrolet next year, they now have multiple charters and plan to run multiple cars on a full-time basis, even if part-time drivers fill the second seat, much like they have filled the #77 Chevrolet over the course of the team’s first two years in the sport.

Even if this would not be a full-time ride for Nemechek, it still may be a good career move to leave Front Row Motorsports and land a seat here. Spire Motorsports are seeking to improve upon the performance of their first two seasons, and they have formed partnerships with both Hendrick Motorsports and Chip Ganassi Racing.

A strong run with Spire Motorsports could potentially put Nemechek on the radar of Hendrick Motorsports or Chip Ganassi Racing as well, especially with Kurt Busch likely only having a year or two left at the latter behind the wheel of the #1 Chevrolet.

Notably, Nemechek won an Xfinity Series race for Chip Ganassi Racing in the 2018 season as a part-time driver at Kansas Speedway in what was only his 15th career start, and that relationship is still intact.
