Romain Grosjean has been released from Bahrain Defence Force (BDF) Hospital following three nights after his crash in Sunday’s Formula 1 race.
After spending three nights at Bahrain Defence Force (BDF) Hospital in Riffa, Bahrain, Haas Formula 1 driver Romain Grosjean has been discharged. He was discharged at 10:30 local time on Wednesday.
The 34-year-old Frenchman continues to recover from burns suffered in a nasty first-lap crash in Sunday’s Bahrain Grand Prix at Bahrain International Circuit in which his VF-20 was split into two pieces.
He shared the following message on Twitter.
Grosjean has already been ruled out for this Sunday’s race at the outer layout of Bahrain International Circuit, the first ever Sakhir Grand Prix.

Pietro Fittipaldi, Haas’s reserve driver, is set to make his series debut in this 87-lap race around the 11-turn, 2.202-mile (3.544-kilometer) road course in Sakhir, Bahrain, making the Fittipaldi name the first to ever produce four F1 drivers.
It had already been announced that both Grosjean and teammate Kevin Magnussen will not return to the sport’s lone American team for the 2021 season. Grosjean had competed for the team since they entered F1 in 2016, but rookies Nikita Mazepin and Mick Schumacher are set to replace the two veterans next year.
As a result, the Bahrain Grand Prix had been slated to be Grosjean’s antepenultimate start with Haas and likely in F1.
While that won’t be the case because of the fact that he is slated to miss the 2020 season’s penultimate race, there is still a chance that he will make one final start in the season-ending Abu Dhabi Grand Prix at Yas Marina Circuit on Sunday, December 13 to end his tenure with the team and potentially his career on a high note.
