IndyCar’s Fast Nine Shootout is in the books, completing the 33-car starting lineup for the 105th running of the Indy 500.

The fastest nine IndyCar drivers from yesterday afternoon’s qualifying session for the 105th running of the Indy 500 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway advanced to this afternoon’s Fast Nine Shootout to set the first three rows of the starting lineup for the race.

This qualifying session, which saw each of these nine drivers take another four-lap run around the four-turn, 2.5-mile (4.023-kilometer) oval in Speedway, Indiana, solidified the 33-car lineup for this year’s edition of the “Greatest Spectacle in Racing”.

It was Chip Ganassi Racing’s Scott Dixon who took the pole position for this 200-lap race with a four-lap average speed of 231.685 miles per hour behind the wheel of his #9 Honda.

Set to join Dixon in the middle of the front row in second place behind the wheel of his #26 Honda is Andretti Autosport’s Colton Herta, and set to join them on the outside of the front row in third behind the wheel of his #21 Chevrolet is Ed Carpenter Racing’s Rinus VeeKay.

The second row is set to consist of Ed Carpenter Racing’s Ed Carpenter on the inside in fourth place behind the wheel of his #20 Chevrolet, Chip Ganassi Racing’s Tony Kanaan in the middle in fifth behind the wheel of his #48 Honda, and Chip Ganassi Racing’s Alex Palou on the outside in sixth behind the wheel of his #10 Honda.

The third row is set to consist of Andretti Autosport’s Ryan Hunter-Reay on the inside in seventh place behind the wheel of his #28 Honda, Meyer Shank Racing’s Helio Castroneves in the middle in eighth behind the wheel of his #06 Honda, and Chip Ganassi Racing’s Marcus Ericsson on the outside in ninth behind the wheel of his #8 Honda.
