Former Indy Lights driver Ryan Norman is set to make his IndyCar debut in this Sunday’s Honda Indy 200 at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.
Four drivers have already made their IndyCar debuts through the first nine races of the 2021 season: Romain Grosjean, Jimmie Johnson, Kevin Magnussen and Cody Ware.
A fifth is set to do so in this Sunday’s Honda Indy 200 at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course: former Indy Lights driver Ryan Norman.
It was announced last week that the 23-year-old Aurora, Ohio native is set to make his series debut in this Sunday afternoon’s 80-lap race around the 13-turn, 2.258-mile (3.634-kilometer) natural terrain road course in Lexington, Ohio driving the #52 Honda for Dale Coyne Racing with Rick Ware Racing.
Partners Koinu Inu, EVO and Three Chord Bourbon are set to be represented on Norman’s #52 Honda in this race.
Here is what Norman had to say about this opportunity.
"“My goal throughout my whole racing career has been to become an NTT INDYCAR SERIES driver. So many years of hard work and sacrifices have finally paid off, and I want to thank Dale Coyne for giving me a shot to show what I can do in the series.“It’s an honor to be able to drive for DCR. They have shown over the years that they have created a great competitive program, and I can’t wait to see what we can accomplish together. I’m more prepared than ever before to show that I belong in INDYCAR and can fight for podiums and wins. It’s time to get to work.”"
