IndyCar: 2021 Mid-Ohio qualifying – Full starting lineup

The stage is set for tomorrow afternoon’s Honda Indy 200 IndyCar race at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course following this afternoon’s qualifying session.
Following a weekend off after the race at Road America, IndyCar is back in action at another road course this weekend at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course for tomorrow afternoon’s Honda Indy 200.
An exciting qualifying session, as has become quite standard in the series, set the starting lineup for this race earlier this afternoon, and it was Team Penske’s Josef Newgarden who took the pole position, his third in a row.

Newgarden took the pole position for this 80-lap race around the 13-turn, 2.258-mile (3.634-kilometer) natural terrain road course in Lexington, Ohio by recording a top lap time of 66.6739 seconds (121.919 miles per hour) in the Firestone Fast Six qualifying session behind the wheel of his #2 Chevrolet.

Set to start alongside Newgarden on the front row in second place behind the wheel of his #26 Honda is Andretti Autosport’s Colton Herta, also for the third race in a row.
The other four drivers who advanced to the Firestone Fast Six were Chip Ganassi Racing’s Marcus Ericsson, Team Penske’s Will Power, Chip Ganassi Racing’s Scott Dixon and Andretti Autosport’s Alexander Rossi. They qualified in third, fourth, fifth and sixth place behind the wheels of their #8 Honda, #12 Chevrolet, #9 Honda and #27 Honda, respectively.
Points leader Alex Palou of Chip Ganassi Racing qualified in seventh place behind the wheel of his #10 Honda, while Arrow McLaren SP’s Pato O’Ward, his chief championship rival, qualified back in 20th behind the wheel of his #5 Chevrolet.
