Formula 1: When does the new video game launch?
By Asher Fair
We are just days away from the launch of the new Formula 1 video game, F1 2021, with the digital Deluxe Edition set to launch even earlier.
Amid a much more normal-looking Formula 1 season than last when, when the official F1 2020 video game was released just one race into the season, we are just days away from the much anticipated launch of F1 2021 and everything that comes with this 2021 season-based game.
In EA Sports’ first year as publisher of the game following their acquisition of Codemasters, there are quite a few features that will be sure to get your heart and engine revving, all while maintaining the typical captivating aspect of what is annually one of the top racing games, if not the top racing game, on the market.
There is an all-new narrative-driven mode called Braking Point, a 10-year career mode, multiplayer mode and much, much more.

Braking Point allows players to rise from the ranks of Formula 2 with one of five Formula 1 teams from 2021 and compete against returning antagonist Devon Butler.
There is also an expanded two-player career mode which allows racers to go head to head in synchronous online or local play, offering an exciting new way to experience this particular mode of the game. This mode allows players to join forces or race competitively with rival teams in synchronous sessions.
Additionally, Real-Season Start enables players to jump in at any point in the calendar that has already occurred with up-to-date standings, a feature that makes much more sense in 2021 considering the fact that there have already been nine races contested this year.
Take a look at some pre-release images of the game.
Naturally, not everything is new, however. The My Team mode is back, as is two-player split-screen.
But speaking of My Team, there has been one particular enhancement that you may want to make note of: seven world champions and legends will become selectable drivers this mode, including Ayrton Senna, Alain Prost, Michael Schumacher, Nico Rosberg, Jenson Button, David Coulthard and Felipe Massa.
F1 2021 is set to launch on Friday, July 16 on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5, alongside Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC (via Steam). The digital Deluxe Edition will be available three days earlier on Tuesday, July 13 with additional content.
