By Asher Fair
Following the Carb Day practice session for the 106th running of the Indy 500, here are the odds for all 33 drivers to win Sunday’s race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
With Friday afternoon’s rain-delayed Carb Day practice session in the books, the next time cars are scheduled to hit the track at Indianapolis Motor Speedway is race day for the 106th running of the Indy 500.
Chip Ganassi Racing’s Tony Kanaan topped the speed chart in the Carb Day practice session with a top lap speed of 227.114 miles per hour (39.6277 seconds) around the four-turn, 2.5-mile (4.023-kilometer) oval in Speedway, Indiana behind the wheel of his #1 Honda.
The 2013 Indy 500 winner is set to start the 200-lap race on the outside of the second row in sixth place.
Teammate Scott Dixon is set to start the race from the pole position (full starting lineup available here). The 2008 Indy 500 winner took the pole position with a four-lap average speed of 234.046 miles per hour behind the wheel of his #9 Honda.
Set to join him on the front row are teammate Alex Palou in the middle and Ed Carpenter Racing’s Rinus VeeKay on the outside.
With no more practice scheduled, who is the favorite to drink the milk in victory lane on Sunday afternoon?
