NASCAR teams without drivers announced: No. 3 – Live Fast Motorsports

Live Fast Motorsports are a one-car team that entered the NASCAR Cup Series in 2021, and they took the same approach in 2022 that they did last year.

Team co-owner B.J. McLeod drove the #78 Ford in all of the oval races, save for the dirt race at Bristol Motor Speedway, while other drivers were called upon to compete in the dirt race and in the road course races.

While the performance standard mentioned on the previous slide may be worth mentioning again, since the #78 team finished in 36th (last) place finish in the owner standings, this is only its first season outside the top 33.

With that being said, there is little reason to believe that it will be in the top 33 anytime soon. Could this team part ways with their lone charter?

If the McLeod and Matt Tifft-owned team does return in a similar capacity for a third season in 2023, expect McLeod back as the primary driver of the #78 Ford once again.

Aside from Front Row Motorsports, Rick Ware Racing, and Live Fast Motorsports, just two teams have seats without confirmed drivers for next year: Stewart-Haas Racing and Joe Gibbs Racing. Stewart-Haas Racing haven’t confirmed a driver for their #41 Ford, while Joe Gibbs Racing haven’t confirmed a driver for their #18 Toyota.
