Each of the 45 NASCAR Cup Series drivers on the entry list for the 2026 season-opening Daytona 500 at Daytona International Speedway is set to make a single-lap qualifying attempt on Wednesday evening.
The fastest 10 drivers are set to advance to the second round, and the top two drivers in the second round are set to be locked into the front row for Sunday's 68th running of the 200-lap "Great American Race" around the four-turn, 2.5-mile (4.023-kilometer) high-banked Daytona Beach, Florida oval.
In addition to locking two of the eight non-chartered (open) cars into the 41-car field, the results of Wednesday night's qualifying session are set to determine the full starting lineups for both of Thursday night's two 60-lap America 250 Florida Duel races. The results of those races are set to determine the full Daytona 500 starting lineup, behind the front row.
