NASCAR: Who’s Hot And Who’s Not Heading Into Pocono

HOT – TNT and their Summer Races

As many fans are aware, last weekend was the final race of the season on FOX. NASCAR and FOX have had a tough go in 2014. The ratings have been in the dumpster and the quality of the TV coverage has been anything but quality. From the announcers to the camera angles to the timing of commercials; everything that FOX has done has been a mess. Pocono will kick off a stint of races that will be covered by TNT. It will be interesting to see if all of the commotion (although it’s fair) about FOX was over-hyped or if there is actually something to it. As painful as it was at times to deal with the FOX telecast, I never found myself not tuning in. Others have claimed they have turned to radio and such to avoid the FOX telecast. The TNT numbers over the next few weeks should shed some light on that. Regardless, TNT will be a breath of fresh air for NASCAR and its fans whether it boosts the ratings or not.
