NASCAR Sprint Cup Series at Michigan International Speedway: entry list
The NASCAR makes its first of two yearly visits to Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn, Mich., this weekend for Sunday’s Quicken Loans 400. It’s the 15th race of the 36-race Sprint Cup 2014 season, and counting this weekend’s race, there are 12 races to go until the cut-off to get into the 16-driver Chase for the Sprint Cup championship postseason. After 14 races, 10 different drivers already have wins under their belts, including series points leader Jeff Gordon. Four of those 10 drivers have locked into the Chase with two trips to victory lane — Dale Earnhardt Jr., Kevin Harvick, Joey Logano and reigning and six-time Sprint Cup champion Jimmie Johnson.
There are 44 drivers on the entry list for the Quicken Loans 400. With only 43 cars needed to make up a full field, unless there’s a late withdrawal, one driver will find himself on the outside looking in after pole qualifying on Friday. Qualifying for the race is scheduled for 3:40 p.m. ET. It can be seen live on FOX Sports 1. The race is scheduled to take the green flag shortly after 1 p.m. on Sunday. The race can be seen live on TNT on Sunday, with pre-race coverage getting underway at noon.
