Brian Vickers has been running well in 2014 but Sunday was a rough outing for him. Vickers got tangled in an early wreck in the opening laps of the race and as a result he finished outside of the top-40. The poor finish also dropped him to 18th in the point standings which would have him not making the chase if it were to begin this weekend. Although Vickers is without a win, his consistent finishes had him in a position to snag one of the final chase seeds assuming that there weren’t 16 winners. However his recent poor outings have dropped him in the standings and he and his team will now have to rebound with a win or strong finishes to get back some of the ground that they have lost.
