HOT – Hendrick Motorsports

Team Hendrick may not have won for the sixth week in a row but they were still dominant this past Sunday in Sonoma. Jeff Gordon (2nd), Dale Earnhardt Jr. (3rd), Kasey Kahne (6th) and Jimmie Johnson (7th) all finished inside of the top-10. Following Sonoma Gordon, Johnson and Earnhardt Jr. also hold the top-three spots in the point standings. Gordon had a shot at extending the Hendrick streak on Sunday as he reached the back bumper of Carl Edwards heading into the final corners at Sonoma Raceway. If Gordon wanted to he most likely could have turned Edwards and won the race, assuming that he wouldn’t have been spun as well. In the end Gordon raced Edwards clean and took home a top-five finish. Kahne continues to improve and pump out quality finishes, however time is beginning to run thin and the No. 5 team is going to need to win to make the chase as they currently sit 16th in the points.
