NASCAR Sprint Cup Series at Indianapolis Motor Speedway: entry list
Next up on the 2014 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series schedule is the annual stop at the famed and historic Indianapolis Motor Speedway for the Brickyard 400. This year’s race is specifically named Crown Royal presents the John Wayne Walding 400 at the Brickyard powered by BigMachineRecords.com. The names a mouthful and the entry list is a long one. Marquee events tend to draw large numbers, and this year’s Brickyard 400 is not different, at least when it comes to entrants. There are 46 drivers on the entry list, hoping to secure one of the 43 available starting spots.
Among the names on the entry list is that of Juan Pablo Montoya. Montoya said “adios” to NASCAR at the end of the 2013 race season in favor of a return to IndyCar. He’ll make his second of two Sprint Cup starts this year (he also raced at Michigan International Speedway last month) at Indianapolis on Sunday from behind the wheel of a No. 12 Team Penske entry.
Qualifying for this year’s race is scheduled for Saturday at 2:10 p.m. ET. The 2014 Brickyard 400 is scheduled to take the green flag shortly after 1 p.m. ET Sunday. Both qualifying and the race can be seen live on ESPN.
