NASCAR: Who’s Hot And Who’s Not Heading Into Pocono
HOT – Jeff Gordon
Sunday marked history for Jeff Gordon and the No. 24 team. Aside from picking up their second win of 2014 and cementing themselves as contenders for the championship; Gordon won his record fifth Brickyard 400. The other impressive feat on the day for Gordon was the way in which he won the race. Gordon had struggled all day with restarts, at the end of the race he was able to have the “restart of mt life” and power his way around teammate Kasey Kahne on the outside. With six races still left before the chase and some good tracks coming up it is not out of the question to think that Gordon could still win another race or two. Regardless, when it comes to a fifth NASCAR championship the drive for five is alive and well. If Gordon does win a championship this season you’ll have to wonder if he decides to ride off into the sunset; that is a conversation that we will put off foe another time though.
