The NASCAR Nationwide Series takes on both left and right turns this weekend with the Zippo 200 at Watkins Glen (N.Y.) International. It’ll be the second road course race of the season for the Nationwide Series and the first of two straight, as the circuit heads to Mid-Ohio next weekend.
As usual with Nationwide races on road course, road course ringers will be in full force. Among those will be Sprint Cup Series driver Marcos Ambrose, who will drive a second entry for Richard Petty Motorsports as a teammate to RPM’s regular series driver, Dakoda Armstrong.
The field will also get a double shot of Team Penske, as Penske will be fielding cars for both its Sprint Cup drivers — Brad Keselowski and Joey Logano — for the Nationwide race. Keselowski will be in Team Penske’s familiar No. 22, while Logano will pilot a No. 22 entry.
There are only 39 cars on the entry list for Saturday’s race, so unless there’s a late entry, the event will be one car shy of a full field.
Both qualifying and racing are scheduled on Saturday, with qualifying scheduled for 9:40 a.m. ET and the race scheduled to take the green flag shortly after 2:15 p.m. Qualifying will be shown live on ESPN2, while the race will air on ABC, beginning with pre-race coverage at 2 p.m.
