Take 5 – Speaking of Greg Biffle ….

I have been pretty hard on Biffle over the last few weeks. In all honesty I feel that I have earned the right to be hard on him since I all but guaranteed he would make it out of the first round of the chase and look where that got me. When it comes to Biffle though, the blame or anger actually doesn’t belong with him as much as it does Roush Fenway Racing. If you have followed Biffle the past few weeks you would notice right away that the cars they are providing him with simply aren’t up to par with the competition that he is trying to beat on the track. Nothing against guys like AJ Allmendinger and Aric Almirola but a guy like Biffle who is with a team like Roush should have better cars and on-track performance than Allmendinger and Almirola and there were times where that wasn’t even happening. Biffle ran 23rd, 16th and 21st during his three chase races and I would argue that the 16th place finish was a gift and the result of the multiple cautions at the end of that race. Again, this isn’t a knock on Biffle as much as it is on his team for not providing him with quality cars. Then again, maybe the team is doing their part and it’s Biffle who isn’t getting the most out of the equipment that he has. Either way something has to give or 2015 is going to be a very long season at RFR.
