NASCAR: Who’s Hot And Who’s Not Heading Into Kansas Speedway

NOT – Kevin Harvick
How in the world does Harvick have the same freak equipment failure happen to him on the same track twice in the same season? Harvick has run well in both Dover races in 2014, in fact he looked like he was going to win both races at Dover in 2014 until he had tire issues. In the spring Harvick had an issue where it seemed that the valve was knocked off of the tire by a lug nut which caused the tire to go flat and him to finish that race outside of the top-10. Last weekend Harvick was again leading when he had a tire go down and again it was because the valve had been knocked off of the tire. This time however it was speculated that the gun man for the No. 4 team had actually missed the lug nut during the previous pit stop and that the air gun might have hit the valve which caused it to break. Regardless, two valve problems in two races at Dover in one season is hard to fathom. I challenge any NASCAR fan to come up with two other instances where any driver has had a valve problem this season because I can’t even recall one. Luckily for Harvick there aren’t any more races at Dover this season which means that it will hopefully be smooth sailing moving forward for the No. 4 team.
