Hendrick Motorsports is the cream of the crop when it comes to NASCAR teams. Since the arrival of Jeff Gordon in the mid-90’s Team Hendrick has been the place to go if you want to contend for a championship. In the last 20 years Team Hendrick has won 11 championships between Jimmie Johnson (6), Jeff Gordon (4) and Terry Labonte (1). Even in the years that their drivers weren’t winning the title they still found success. In 2011 and 2014 Stewart-Haas drivers won championships, SHR engines are provided by HMS. Essentially, in the last 20 years there have only been seven times where HMS didn’t have its hand in the championship.

While the success of HMS is undeniable one has to wonder where the team is heading in the future. Fans of Team Hendrick need to understand that the team as it is currently comprised may not stay that way for much longer. The near future seems to be set in stone but a few years from now and HMS could be completely different.

Let’s take a look at the potential crossroads HMS could be facing with each of its drivers over the next few years.
