Pippa Mann

Upside: She’s had modest success at Indianapolis, with an Indy Lights pole, a gritty debut (surviving the race dehydrated without a drinks system), and a dazzling carve up the running order in 2014 before mechanical issues. Mann’s an Indy Lights race winner, too, and known for a high level of fan interaction.

Questions: Mann’s IndyCar record is not impressive, with 15th her best result in seven tries.  Albeit limited, it’s the only sample teams will have to evaluate her abilities.

Verdict: With her livery on Dale Coyne promotional cars all winter, Mann is expected back. That could be for an Indianapolis 500 one-off, as in 2014, or it could be for all the ovals, relieving Huertas.
