NOT – Roush Fenway Racing

RFR is coming off of a horrible year in 2014.

It’s hard to imagine that year being horrible when you look at the fact that two of their three drivers made the chase, one of them even won two races. Well, that driver who won both of those races (Carl Edwards) is no longer with the team. That leaves RFR with Greg Biffle who snuck into the final spot in the chase, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. who failed to qualify for a race in 2014 despite being on a team in which that should never happen and Trevor Bayne who is about to run his first full-time NASCAR season. It’s also worth noting that RFR made a big deal about Bayne running a race with them in 2014 only for him to fail to qualify for that event.

Biffle will take over the leadership role of the team as he has many years on both Stenhouse Jr. and Bayne. Mark Martin was brought in by RFR last year to help mentor the young drivers but he has already left that position, you know what they say about sinking ships. For RFR 2015 should be about modest goals and that modest goal should be getting two of your drivers into the chase via wins. If two RFR drivers are able to win in 2015 than I would call that a success.
