No. 3 – Close Finish (2006)

As mentioned in the introduction the Phoenix racetrack belongs to Kevin Harvick as much as Martinsville belongs to Jimmie Johnson. He’s won six times there including four of the last five races held in the desert.

In the fall of 2006 the at-the-time driver of the 29 machine was able to hold off Johnson and get the trophy after a tight battle in the last laps. Johnson was probably faster but Harvick didn’t give him any chance of getting by and won, sweeping the weekend.
