NASCAR: Who’s Hot And Who’s Not Heading Into Phoenix
Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports
HOT – Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Remember when the loss of Steve Letarte was going to doom any chance that Earnhardt Jr. had of finding success in 2015? Well, some people might have gotten a bit carried away with that because Earnhardt Jr. and Greg Ives seem to be doing just fine.
In three races this season Earnhardt Jr. has finished inside of the top-five each time. His 4th-place finish this past weekend in Las Vegas was actually his worst finish of 2015. Heading into Phoenix Earnhardt Jr. is looking to get his first win of the season. Last year in Phoenix Earnhardt Jr. had a car that should have won if not for some late-lap issues.
Even if he leaves Phoenix without a win Junior Nation has nothing to worry about. Over the last three years Earnhardt Jr. has proven that he can consistently finish near the front and with those finishes the wins will come eventually. If not for Harvick, Earnhardt Jr. might of had the honor of getting off to the best start this season.
