Better Week: Kevin Harvick

Four races in 2015 and Kevin Harvick has a pair of wins and a pair of 2nd-place finishes. In the last seven races dating back to 2014 Harvick has now put together a string of seven consecutive finishes inside of the top-two. The record for such finishes is 11 and is held by Richard Petty.

On Sunday Harvick was what everyone expected him to be and that is dominant. It took him a little bit longer to take over the race than some of his fans might have liked but once he did it was his to lose and he obviously didn’t lose. Harvick had to deal with six restarts in the latter part of the race and on each one he was able to maintain the lead and then drive away from the field.

Harvick will look to continue his winning ways by looking for his third win of the season and a sweep of the West Coast run this weekend at Auto Club. Harvick is having a better week than Jeff Gordon but he isn’t having himself the best week ever.
