NASCAR Sprint Cup Series at Texas Motor Speedway: entry list
After taking the Easter weekend off, the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series returns to action Saturday night for the series’ first night race of the 2015 season — the Duck Commander 500 at Texas Motor Speedway near Fort Worth.
The race will be the seventh race of the season for the Sprint Cup Series and the second since the circuit returned from its inaugural West Coast swing. Denny Hamlin heads into this weekend’s race at the most recent winner, winning two weeks ago in his home state of Virginia at Martinsville Speedway. Joey Logano, winner of the Daytona 500 earlier this season, was the winner of last year’s Duck Commander 500.
Kyle Larson returns to competition at Texas after being sidelined in Martinsville because of a fainting spell at an autograph session the day prior to the race. Still out, though, are Kyle Busch and Brian Vickers.
There are 45 drivers on the entry list with hopes of being one of the 43 that will start the race on Saturday. Qualifying for the Duck Commander 500 is scheduled for 6:45 p.m. ET Friday, weather permitting. The race is scheduled to take the green flag shortly after 7:30 p.m. Saturday.
