Bad Week – Kyle Larson

Kyle Larson made his return to the track this past weekend in Texas. Larson had missed the race two weeks prior in Martinsville due to medical reasons so it was nice to him driving again in Texas.

Larson ran himself a good race and on the final pit stop he took only two tires which at the time put in into third position. Unfortunately, Larson also received a penalty from pit road on that final stop and as a result he had to move to the back of the pack. Larson was not able to recover in the back of the pack and the result was a finish outside of the top-20.

Jeff Gordon and Jamie McMurray also took two tires on that pit stop and after restarting the races first and second they finished sixth and seventh. Given that it would be safe to assume that Larson would have had himself a top-10 finish had he not received the penalty on the last pit stop.
