NASCAR’s Top-10 Prospects To Watch Out For
2. Ben Rhodes
This guy is just one step up from William Byron as he was a guy who came into the K&N East Series last year for the first time, full time, and won five races in route to winning the K&N East Series Championship. That accomplishment in itself put him into an Xfinity Series car this season for 10 races with Jr Motorsports, which he shares with Dale Earnhardt JR, Kevin Harvick, and Kasey Kahne.
Rhodes is one of the nicest kids you will meet off the track but on the track he is as tough as they come. He was somebody who has the total package in terms of pure talent and overall demeanor. He was a 4.0 student in high school while winning the championship last season and made sure that was a priority. One of the bigger things he has struggled with this season is racing at the tracks he has never raced at before. He finished 7th at Iowa, where he won in the K&N East Series last season, before running 21st at Chicagoland, where he had never raced at.
Having talked to Rhodes, he explained to me that he is taking this first five races as a learning approach where the next five will be when he starts getting aggressive and goes all out. I cant wait to see what this kid does in his career, which I suspect with be long and healthy.
