4. Chip Ganassi Racing

UPDATE – Ganassi Racing has said they are not adding a third car in 2016 and Bowyer has confirmed that he will not be heading over there.

A lot of factors will play into this equation, the main being what the status of Bowyer and investor Rob Kauffman’s relationship is. Kauffman was a huge part of the Michael Waltrip Racing organization and nobody seems to know if him and Bowyer are on good terms. Ganassi seems to be only fielding two teams in the Sprint Cup Series for 2016 leaving Bowyer on the outside looking in, but could be persuaded in Bowyer bringing 5 Hour Energy over as a sponsor for the team.

This is another far-fetched situation from my research and will be a scenario where the perfect situation will have to happen. But with Kauffman bringing even more equity over to the company, a three car team for the organization would not be that much of a surprise, and Bowyer would have to be the man to fill the spot. Note, Bowyer has said that his plans will not include Kauffman moving forward so this is an extremely hypothetical situation.
