3. Richard Petty Motorsports

UPDATE – Two weeks ago it was confirmed that Bowyer’s agent had spoken to RPM and that their was mutual interest but nothing else has been said since.

As we move into our top three on this list, the scenarios from here forward I definitely see as more of a viable option for Bowyer in 2016. Richard Petty Motorsports comes in at number three on our list with the interest that they have expressed in Bowyer throughout his career. When Bowyer left Richard Childress Racing prior to signing with Micheal Waltrip Racing, Richard Petty himself expressed a huge interest in Bowyer and was willing to jump through hoops to sign him. Although Aric Almirola is signed through 2016 for RPM, Sam Hornish is only signed through 2015 leaving the #9 car as an option for Bowyer in 2016.

This will depend on how much RPM wants to push for Bowyer and if Bowyer feels he can be competitive and okay with driving Ford as it is the only manufacturer he has not driven for in his career. Bringing 5 Hour Energy would be a huge asset for RPM and the #9 team as a whole so Bowyer heading to RPM in 2016 makes sense.
