NASCAR: Top-10 Moments Of 2015 Sprint Cup Season
The Kyle Busch Injury
How can you even talk about the 2015 season without mentioning Kyle Busch’s vicious crash into the inside wall of Daytona International Raceway?
The Joe Gibbs Racing driver was running with his teammate, Eric Jones, when he accidentally bumped Jones too hard and caused him to spin in front of the field. Busch was then tapped by another car, sending him sliding through the grass and hard into the inside wall of the track. The contact was difficult to watch on TV considering how fast he was going when he hit the wall.
Busch did climb out of his car, but suffered a broken leg and a broken foot as a result of the crash. He was tended to by medical officials and taken to a nearby hospital. Unfortunately for Busch and Busch fans, he would be out of action for 11 weeks while he rehabbed his leg. He later returned at the All-Star race at Lowe’s Motor Speedway and brought his No. 18 Camry home in 8th place.
