Denny Hamlin will enter Sunday’s race in third place in the Chase standings. He should be able to continue his early success at Martinsville, which happens to be one of his best tracks.

Since his Cup career began in 2005, Hamlin has won in Virginia five times. His first victory at the track came back in 2008, after starting second. Starting at the end of 2009 and extending through the end of 2010, he won three-straight races at the track, leading a total of 418 laps in the process.

Throughout his career at Martinsville, Hamlin has finished outside of eighth place just four times, and with his last win coming in last year’s spring race, he will have plenty to build off of on Sunday.

Besides a couple of rough days at Atlanta and Las Vegas, Hamlin has started off the season great. His win in the Daytona 500 locked him into the Chase early and his last two races at Phoenix and Auto Club have resulted in third-place finishes.

With an average finish of 8.0 at Martinsville, Denny Hamlin is your favorite heading into this weekend’s events.
