The eighth race of the 2016 NASCAR season is upon us as the Sprint Cup Series heads to Bristol. Take a look at five contending drivers for Sunday’s race.

After an exciting race at Texas, in which Kyle Busch captured another win, the Sprint Cup Series is heading out to the last great colosseum as drivers will again race at one of NASCAR’s most iconic tracks.

Bristol Motor Speedway has plenty of history behind it that excites fans any and every time cars hit the track. Cale Yarborough’s dominance throughout his career, Darrell Waltrip’s seven straight wins, Jeff Gordon making a name for himself during his best years of racing, the Busch brothers taking over during the 2000’s and finally, all of the famous fights and conflicts that took place.

Bristol truly defines racing in NASCAR and with just a half-mile to operate, there’s always plenty of fireworks. A wreck could come at any time, causing a contender to be caught up simply due to the fact that there is nowhere to go. Bristol is often one of the best chances for drivers on the Chase bubble to capture a win.

Coming into the weekend, Kyle Busch and Jimmie Johnson sit on top of the Chase standings with two wins each, followed by Kevin Harvick, Denny Hamlin and Brad Keselowski who each have one win.

Check out five drivers who will be great picks on Sunday.
