The Favorite: Kyle Busch

Stats at Bristol:

  • Wins: 5
  • Top-5’s: 8
  • Top-10’s: 13
  • Laps Led: 1,704

It’s simply an obvious fact: Kyle Busch is the hottest driver in NASCAR right now. Since coming off of his injury last season, Busch has continued to impress by running through the competition in last year’s Chase and starting 2016 with some incredible racing.

As if winning the previous two Cup races (Martinsville, Texas), wasn’t enough, Busch will head into Bristol with momentum on his side, since he has five career Cup Series wins at the track. His signature stretch came from 2009-2011 when he won four out of five races, leading over 150 laps in three of them.

Busch has had some very dominant days at Bristol by leading 378 and 415 laps in back-to-back races stretching from 2008 to 2009. His average finish of 12.0 is second among active drivers.

In 2016, Busch has finished fourth and above in six out of seven races, and was destined for a second-place finish had he not had a tire issue at Fontana. He is simply at the top of his game right now, and he’s going to stay there unless something major happens.

Kyle Busch will be your favorite at Bristol.
