NASCAR: Winners And Losers From Bristol
By Cole Mentzel
This week’s NASCAR race at Bristol ended with some late drama. Take a look at a few winners and losers from the Food City 500.
This weekend, the NASCAR universe witnessed some exciting racing, thanks to the half-mile known as Bristol Motor Speedway. With fast speeds as well as high banking all packed into one track, it’s always fun to watch cars race at the Last Great Colosseum.
Another new driver was able to punch a ticket to the Chase this weekend as Carl Edwards picked up his first win of the season. But it wasn’t easy, as he had to endure 15 cautions along the way in order to finish the job.
With his win, he joined Jimmie Johnson, Kyle Busch, Kevin Harvick, Brad Keselowski and Denny Hamlin in the group of drivers who have collected wins so far.
Many drivers, like Dale Earnhardt Jr., Chase Elliott and Joey Logano, went a couple of laps down at times during the race, but were able to recover for top-10 finishes in a race that featured tons of pit road penalties as well as general car issues that come with the wear and tear from Bristol
Thanks to a few late cautions, we were able to see some late restarts that led to an eventful final 30 laps of the day.
Check out some winners and losers from the race.
