Deep in the heart of Alabama lies Barber Motorsports Park, which plays host to IndyCar this weekend in the Grand Prix of Alabama.

The first true road course race of the 2016 Verizon IndyCar Series season is upon us. After two street courses and one short oval, there already is the strong battle shaping up between Team Penske and Chip Ganassi Racing. The question becomes – who else can enter the picture and challenge for the win and the championship?

Deep in the south of Alabama lies Barber Motorsports Park, a unique road race where IndyCar’s best will test the tricky turns and close quarters racing of the lefts and rights of the Grand Prix of Alabama. In one of the last on track opportunities for drivers before the month of May and the 100th Indy 500, many teams will also be looking to get on track before the centennial race.

Be sure to tune in to all the IndyCar action from Alabama this weekend on NBCSN. Coverage kicks off with practice on Friday live at 3:30 pm eastern, then follows with qualifying on Saturday live at 4 pm eastern.
