Loser: Pit Road

If the intensity at nearly 200 MPH wasn’t enough, try entering a pit stall. There seemed to be a different incident every time the cars came down for tires, fuel and adjustments.

Early on in the race, Paul Menard and Danica Patrick found trouble when Patrick cut across a few cars and clipped Menard’s front end trying to get into her stall. The incident led to Patrick staring directly at the wall inside of Jimmie Johnson’s stall.

She wasn’t the only driver to have issues either as Denny Hamlin got into trouble twice on pit road after contact with Greg Biffle and Landon Cassill. At one point, Hamlin’s car spun around into the opposite direction which gave him the opportunity to perform a small, yet impressive, donut on pit road to get back to his crew.

There were various other issues throughout the day that caused slight damage but the instances mentioned above were bonus additions to a rather unbelievable day in Alabama.
