With the NFL draft on our minds, the crew from BTF put together a mock NASCAR draft featuring the best non-Sprint Cup Series drivers.

After a weekend where the NFL Draft stole many of the headlines – from big quarterback picks to controversial moves and trades – it leaves one wondering, what if NASCAR had a draft for its young up and coming drivers. In an effort to provide a better picture of the future stars of the sport, and to see who can fit where in the Sprint Cup’s future, four of our writers will present the first-ever 2016 NASCAR Young Guns Fantasy Draft.

The rules are pretty simple for the draft – four rounds to select four drivers to fill a four-car NASCAR Sprint Cup Series team. Manufacturers, alliances, and current teams do not matter, any driver not competing full-time in the premier series of NASCAR is eligible for the draft. Of course, reasons will be explained for each of the drivers worthy and deserving of being one of the sixteen selected. Writers will draft in a rotating order over the four rounds.

Here are the four writers taking part in our first ever NASCAR Young Guns Fantasy Draft:

And with that, let’s get things started! The 2016 NASCAR Young Guns Draft is underway.
