Winner: Putting Together A Complete Race

After a five-win campaign in 2015, Matt Kenseth was set to have another great season with Joe Gibbs Racing, arguably the best team in NASCAR right now.

That simply hadn’t been the case through ten weeks of action. Kenseth only had two top-10’s, with his highest finish being seventh place. He had led laps at every track visited this season except for Phoenix, but it seemed like there was always a roadblock. Whether it was a penalty or a wreck, Kenseth had been suffering from arguably the worst luck in NASCAR to start the season.

That all changed at Kansas. Though he only led three laps, Kenseth stayed near the front of the field for most of the night and finished off his best race of the year in fourth place. Though it wasn’t a win for the No. 20 team, it seemed like one, as they had finally put together a solid race and top-5 finish.

Next weekend at Dover, Kenseth will have another great chance to succeed as he has been able to get out front in three of the first four short track races this season.
