Good: Heat Races

The Dash for Cash is back and better than ever! Not only does the revamped Dash for Cash format include a set of heat races before the Xfnity Series race to determine which two drivers will be eligible to compete for the cash prize, it also gives the highest finishing eligible driver a spot in new Xfinity Series playoff format.

With that being said, hopefully NASCAR will see extra incentive that the Dash for Cash heat races brings to the Xfinity Series and decide to bring something similar to The Cup level as well. In fact, maybe The Cup Series could use the heat races as a new qualifying format and determine who competes in each heat race by having drivers draw an even or odd number.

Not only would this make some of the bigger teams in The Cup Series sweat a little more, especially with the possibility of going to a backup car or suffering damage during the heat race, it would also be a great way for NASCAR to add a little something extra to every race weekend. Who knows! It might even turn weekly qualifying into must-see TV for race fans during the work week.

Next: Not sorry about that?
