Winner: Matt Kenseth

It was a day of great joy for Matt Kenseth, who earned his first win of the 2016 season.

Kenseth was one of the favorites heading into the race, as he had two wins and top-5/top-10 numbers similar to Jimmie Johnson. Early on, it was obvious that he was going to be a force, as he made his way to the front and stayed in the top-5.

Kenseth got a huge break after The Big One, as he was one of the few drivers that drove to safety during the the accident. With some veteran racing to hold off Larson and Elliott, Kenseth broke through in what had been a disastrous season up until the win.

Whether it was the late wiggle at Daytona, illegal fueling at Atlanta, a loose wheel at Texas, an accident at Talladega or any of the other issues he had dealt with earlier in the season, Kenseth overcame them all and punched his ticket to the Chase.
