The Coca-Cola 600 could be summed up with just one name: Martin Truex Jr. He was in the lead for 392 out of 400 laps and easily won NASCAR’s longest race.

Known as one of the most prestigious races of the season, and one that every driver has circled on their calendar, the 600 delivered with another great driver story as Truex overcame the odds and finally won a race after the bad luck that had followed him earlier in the season.

With his win, he joined all four Joe Gibbs Racing drivers in the Chase and became the fifth Toyota driver to win a race this season.

On top of Truex’s win, NASCAR fans at the race and around the nation were able to witness a special scene as many drivers had patriotic paint schemes. To go along with that, they featured the name of a fallen military member on their car.

The pre-race festivities featured troops, military aircraft and many other American themes that set the scene for Memorial Day.

Though the 600 did not feature much late-race drama or many lead changes, it did deliver with it’s incredible atmosphere on one of racing’s greatest days.
