From the doubleheader in Detroit to the high banks of Texas, the Verizon IndyCar Series gets ready to race on the edge in the Lone Star State.

One of the most exciting night races of the motorsports calendar is set to go green this Saturday night, as the Verizon IndyCar Series races in the Firestone 600 at Texas. The top open wheel drivers in North America will be racing on the high banks of the track, one of the fastest on the series schedule. Scott Dixon is your defending winner from Chip Ganassi Racing, but Will Power carries the momentum into the race weekend following his first win in over a year last weekend at Detroit.

Despite that momentum for Power, Texas could very much mirror Indianapolis this year, with many drivers being in contention for victory. Chip Ganassi Racing certainly has to be counted in with their successes at the Phoenix oval earlier this year, as well as Penske and Andretti for their wins this year too. But you also cannot rule out Ed Carpenter Racing or Dale Coyne Racing, who each have scored victories in the last four years.

Who will come out on top this weekend in Texas? Tune in this weekend for the Firestone 600, with live coverage seen on NBCSN on Saturday night at 8:00 pm eastern. Brian Till, Paul Tracy, and Townsend Bell will have the race call from the booth, with Marty Snider, Kevin Lee, Katie Hargitt, and Robin Miller on pit road.
