He proved that so far this season with six top-five’s and 11 top-ten’s in the first 15 races and Elliott is showing no sign of slowing down. Not only that, Chase also has top-ten’s in six of the seven Chase tracks that the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series has competed in this season. Finally, Chase has the second-best record of any Hendrick driver this season, which proves he is at the top of his game right now.

With that in mind and the momentous run that Elliott has been on this season, it should come as no surprise that he will become the first rookie to make the Chase and the second Hendrick Motorsport driver to make it to the final round of the new Chase format. While that might sound like a tall order for the rookie, his poise and great finishes this season more than prove he can accomplish the feat.
