Toyota – Rule The World

One championship and your already king of the world huh?

I guess that’s fair. Kid Rock did do  a special Chevrolet commercial where he sung born free to the image of Dale Earnhardt Jr winning the second Daytona 500 of his career, so i guess Toyota doing a king of the world commercial is no different. While I do understand that this was basically Toyota’s way of bragging about their first Sprint Cup title, the ways in which they did it was a little weird.

Take for example the guy in the opening scene. Although having a favorite shirt for race day is always a good idea, , he sits there and sniffs it first. Is that an indication of someone with obsessive compulsive disorder or is it someone else shirt and he just wants to wear it to be in the commercial?  Also, why a Denny Hamlin shirt? He didn’t win the championship.

It’s also funny how everyone at the party in the next scene is eating MnM’s. Almost like they fear that their new champion will walk out of the television during a post-race interview and rip them all to shreds for not eating his sponsored candy. Finally, what is going on with the guy and the computer? I know its race day man, but you look like you’re having a full-out panic attack if Kyle Busch doesn’t win!

All and all it’s a great way for Toyota to establish itself as the new kings of NASCAR and also a good way to show us that JGR fans have OCD, paranoia and a little bit of a panic attack disorder. Good way to represent your fan base guys!
