NASCAR: 2016 Big Prediction Page (Mid-Season Edition)
How Far Will Tony Stewart Make It In The 2016 NASCAR Chase?
- Martin Feigen: I would love to see Tony roll into the final race with a chance to win it all. Unfortunately his team has not been consistent enough for me to think he will not get past the second round. It will be a loss not having him around to then end, but its just not in the cards.
- Mike Hutton: Tony and Mike Bugarewicz are melding well together. They will make it to the Final-Four with a win at Texas.
- Alex Herbst: Stewart making the Chase in his final season was not something I saw in the cards at the beginning of the year. But I think now that he’s in he’ll sneak his way through the first round, but won’t make the Round of 8.
- Cole Mentzel: Tony Stewart will make it to the Contender 12 in the Chase this year. While he’s good enough to make it through the first round, I just can’t see him going much farther with how competitive the rest of the series has been.
- Marco Venosta: I think he will probably make it to the second round of the Chase. He has been hanging around the tenth position for most of the last races which is a good sign looking forward to the first round of the Chase but it will be tougher to get through the difficult second round, with the level of competition increasing dramatically. I also think SHR will have to give him better equipment if they want him to do well in the Chase, since we have been able to witness that they have clearly been making an effort in this sense only towards the #4 and #41 teams, leaving the #14 and #10 with very poor equipment.
- Christopher Olmstead: It’s hard to imagine Stewart not making it out of the first round of the Chase. At that point I think the momentum from getting into the round of 12 could carry him into the round of 8. Anything past that would be a shock to me.
