NASCAR went two-for-two on road courses this season as Watkins Glen provided another thriller. Take a look at a few winners and losers from the race.
NASCAR held the second and final road course race of the season on Sunday at Watkins Glen.
Earlier in the season at Sonoma, NASCAR fans saw a thriller. With late race action, including a crazy final turn where Tony Stewart passed Denny Hamlin, the expectations were high for another wild road course race.
The Glen delivered like it always does, with cautions breeding cautions throughout the final 30 laps. Along the way, we saw plenty of pit strategies as well as another crazy finish, with two top-5 drivers spinning in the final turn.
The battle near the Chase bubble continued to heat up as drivers like Kyle Larson and Trevor Bayne went in opposite directions, opening up even more competition for the final few spots available.
In the end, Denny Hamlin captured his first win at a road course after saving fuel for the final 41 laps of the race. His win means every member of Joe Gibbs Racing has at least two wins on the season.
