It won’t just be the Sprint Cup Series with some NASCAR Throwback schemes on track at Darlington Raceway. Here are some of what the Xfinity Series has to offer.

The racing world is now just a week and a half away from seeing many of the classic racecar liveries NASCAR fans grew up watching on track. NASCAR Throwback is back again for a second year at Darlington Raceway, and most if not all of the Sprint Cup field will be participating in 2016. Not only that, though, but many Xfinity Series teams will be getting in on the act too.

While there will be less throwback schemes than in the Cup race on Sunday night, the Saturday afternoon race for the junior division will have a handful of old colors. So far nine teams have unveiled their schemes for Darlington, and they are some of the best we’ve seen.

Among the early favorites for top Xfinity Series throwback scheme comes from JGL Racing and their driver Dakoda Armstrong, who will pilot a Davey Allison tribute car:

Davey Allison won’t be the only Allison car on track on Saturday afternoon either, as Ryan Reed will run a scheme similar to that of Bobby Allison on his #16 Ford:

Ryan Reed’s teammate Darrell Wallace Jr. will also get in on the throwback action, running an old Mark Martin look on his #6 car:

Even the smaller Xfinity Series teams will be getting into the act, with a number of tributes and throwback cars. Here’s just a few:

There are perhaps even more throwback colors to be unveiled in the next week before the Xfinity Series takes to the track for practice. It would certainly be a welcomed sight from many fans, as the excitement around the special rides in the Southern 500 is palpable. With further connections to Cup teams, it is also surprising that some teams have not added schemes there, such as Joe Gibbs Racing and JR Motorsports.

As long as the future remains bright for the NASCAR Throwback model on track, it can be expected that more Xfinity Series teams will get involved in the festivities.
