Winner: Kevin Harvick

Kevin Harvick has been the talk of NASCAR over the past three to four weeks.

He had major issues on pit road at Darlington which led to a second-place finish instead of a win. As a result, he openly criticized his pit crew and showed his frustration with the amount of races that had gotten away from him and his team.

Then last weekend at Chicagoland, he got stuck a lap down and never recovered, leading to a 20th-place finish and sending him below the cut line.

This weekend was different though. Harvick was competitive all day and showed that he had the speed to make it to the front of the pack. After waiting out the Kenseth/Truex battle late, Harvick took advantage of that final caution and got side-by-side with Kenseth on the backstretch

The result was a pass for Harvick and a spot in the Round of 12. He won’t have to go to Dover desperate for a win like he did in 2015.

Kevin Harvick and his team looked good this weekend at Loudon. He can now look forward to the next round and focus on trying to get back to the Championship 4 for the third straight year.
