Heading into the desert for some more west coast racing in the Camping World 500, all eyes will be on Joey Logano, who starts on pole on Sunday.

The blue ovals have been on a roll to start 2017, and that streak continued on Friday in qualifying for the Camping World 500 at Phoenix International Raceway. The Fords took the top spot in two out of three rounds of qualifying, with Joey Logano ending the afternoon on pole for Sunday’s scorcher in the desert.

Once again, technical inspection was the early story with a number of cars not on pit lane for Round 1 when it began. Fortunately, all cars were able to make a lap in the opening session. With only 39 cars entered, no cars missed the field for Sunday’s Cup Series race.

It will be an all-Ford front row when the race begins, as Wood Brothers Racing will start second with Ryan Blaney driving. He was fastest in the final round until the final minute, when Logano barely pipped him for the top spot. Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Kyle Larson, who was fastest in Round 1, will start on the second row.
